The practice of meditation takes us on a fabulous journey into the gap between our thoughts, where all the advantages of a more peaceful, stress-free, healthy, and fatigue-free life are available, but which are simply side benefits. The paramount reason for daily meditation is to get into the gap between our thoughts, and make conscious contact with the creative energy of life itself.

Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explains the soul-nourishing meditation technique for making conscious contact with God, which the ancient masters have told us about. You have the potential to be an instrument of the highest good for all concerned and to be a literal miracle worker in your own life.

No person, government, or religion can legitimately claim to do this for you. “In fact,” says Dr. Dyer, “I agree with Carl Jung who said, ‘One of the main functions of formalized religion is to protect people against a direct experience of God.’” When you master getting into the gap and staying there for prolonged segments of meditation, and experience what you bring back to the material world, you will know your answer to the question: “Why meditate?”

Its about feeling something real and true…about you… by J. Strack (USA)

I’ve read and listened to most of what Wayne Dyer has produced. However, in the past several years Wayne has arrived at a profound point where he has been able to put together highly complex concepts together in a rather easy to understand and practice package. If you do not meditate, this is encouragement to do so and a follow along vehicle to get you going. The point that any spiritual person will tell you is that you really should meditate every day. Meditation, will change your life and improve the quality of it tremendously. I also recommend his new book and tape, Power of Intention, which is an important companion to this wonderful book/tape. Through a relazaton and quieting of the mind and body can we observe and realize our nature and the trueth of this all.

There may be other more complex meditation techniques such as pranyama and etc. which is really for the serious student of various traditional teachings. However, for the lay person that wants to save themselves a lot of time…this book/tape and power of intention are beautifully presented and simple to understand and do. But, don’t be fooled by its apparent simplicity and think that it lacks depth. Read the book, listen to the tape/cd and feel good….and know the trueth. Connnect to, experience and realize the limiteless power of the source that makes this and all that we can possibly imagine a reality.

A Fine Example of Meditation by Jane Derry (Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada)

There are as many ways to meditate as there is people meditating. Once a week during our Spiritual Sessions at A Home Away Retreat, we meditate for 1/2 an hour or so. For most addicts, meditation is something very new, and perhaps intimidating. It is one of my joys to be able to present many different ways of meditation to our guests for them to explore what works best for them.

Last Wednesday I used Wayne Dyer’s Japa. Two of the guests loved it. Two were indifferent. One was very disturbed by the use of the Lord’s Prayer, as this person has some healing to do around the church she was raised in. This is the usual type of mixed reviews I get from the guests, however they consistently like the chanting. For sure though, they all like this better than Zazen!

Awesome! by John E. Mooney (Huron, SD USA)

I have tried using meditation before, and this book by far does the best job of explaining the how and why of what you are suppose to be doing. The CD is an immense help also because it takes you step by step on how to do it. Very enlightening and enjoyable. I would reccomend it to anyone trying to learn how to meditate, and get in connection with whatever God you believe in.
