Great Step by Step Manual by Henry Coffey (Tennessee)

Customers Rating: ★★★★★

I just finished reading Ron’s book Wise Mind Open Mind. Great step by step manual on how to integrate mindfullness, meditation, and some of the insights of Buddhism into our daily lives. I found that this booked offered a useful path to practice ways to strengthen one’s life while opening to others and the world about.

I think everyone will have a favorite section. Mine was chapter’s 5, which talked about how to use the Buddhist teaching on the 5 hinderances and chapter 7, which discussed ways to the same thing as it applies to the four nobel truths. That was just me…I think everyone who reads this book will find their own favorite recipes.

WISE MIND/ OPEN MIND by David Seltzer

Customers Rating: ★★★★★

I was lucky enough to have Ron Alexander as my personal therapist when I suffered a devastating loss, and I don’t know how I would have found my way to clarity and peace, and acceptance, without him. Its all here, in WISE MIND/ OPEN MIND, a gentle step-by-step walk along the path of recovery, holding his very wise hand. I’d recommend it to anyone who has gone through troubled times, or is presently, or ever will. Which is all of us. Thanks, Ron, for his wonderful book.

An Important Book for Everyday Life! by Book Lover

Customers Rating: ★★★★★

The book is very readable which is important. Its theme of bringing mindfulness to everyday life and the advantages of doing so are clear. I also particularly liked the various descriptions of the mind and its ability to take you certain unwholesome places unless you step back, observe and rein it in. I think that the concept that the mind can be trained will be a new and important concept for many people.

While I recognize that the practices and approaches described in the book are very useful in a time of crisis, I see them as very important in everyday life and have a renewed commitment to meditate.
